Ernestia Fraser

Ernestia Fraser is a traditionally published author and award-winning poet and screenwriter with a dual B.A. in English and Communication, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing: Screenwriting. In 2011, her screenplay, Inside the Fallen Moon, won 1st prize in the Hollywood Black Film Festival International Storyteller Competition. Following the success of her script, Fraser was awarded a screenwriting fellowship at the Writer’s Institute for Diversity in Los Angeles, which was facilitated by Harrison Reiner, a CBS Television Story Analyst. Fraser was also chosen as a quarterfinalist in the 2023 ScreenCraft Sci-Fi & Fantasy Screenwriting Competition for her feature-length screenplay, White Raven.

Her literary memoir Carnival of Love: A Tale of a Bahamian Family and poetry collection Shallow Water: A short history of where I’m from, have been selected for the national BGCSE Literature curricula across The Bahamas, her beloved homeland.

Fraser currently lives in The Bahamas, teaching Creative Writing on various online platforms.
